heya, good question! so i'm not really an expert on gear, i'm big poor and have only put a few boards together, but imo: bearing choice matters a little less than you would expect for most people. the ones i'm using, and the ones i see recommended most often for most people, are these standard bones reds.
what i've heard is that with the really expensive stuff, you can get minor improvements in pristine park conditions, but that it's not really worth it unless you're pro level.
one other note though, i'm actually considering trying out ceramic bearings like these instead. the benefit to ceramics is it's easier to clean them without having to worry about rust (and they won't rust if you run through a puddle on accident), so they might be worth it if you use your board to get around a lot like i do! and if not, just grab the bones reds. :3
