I wanna yell about some mechanics in the later levels especially that I really loved and keep thinking about, so if you haven't played the game, go check it out! It's $5 US on itch, switch and steam and is by no means overly long or hardware intensive, so pick it up if you can before reading on!
So those nut power ups right?
Once you reach the later, DX levels, in addition to their more vibrant color and their wider, more open layout, you're introduced to elemental power ups for your nut and they're great! They each have their benefits and use cases for progressing through the environment, but I think my favorite little touch on them is that each one uses a different resource before running out.
The water nut has a set number of distinct uses before drying off, the fire nut runs on a timer before burning out, and the honey nut covers a certain number of spaces before cleaning off.
That little touch went a long way for me in terms of how each power up felt to use. Even though they don't affect your movement or control directly, the way each of them wears off affects how you need to handle them in a way that made sense and was a lot of fun!
