Here's an interesting artifact: a dagger from the tomb of Tutankhamen. What makes it interesting is that it's made of iron, and what makes that interesting is that Egypt would not develop an iron smelting industry until hundreds of years later. This dagger, instead of being refined from ore, was crafted from an iron meteorite.

The idea of things made from asteroid iron is just so breathtaking to me. I can only imagine how ancient people thought of such material, if they actually did connect the weird rocks they occasionally found with the falling stars in the sky it would surely look like a divine gift. Which is, damn.
Had to be worth more than gold to that pharaoh and i get it, meteorites are cool as hell
reminds me of the Innaanganeq meteorite in Greenland which served as the local Inuit source of iron for their tools. fascinating that in terms of human history it seems like it had fallen "not too long ago" at like, 10,000 years ago max.
