i've been busy + also sleepy this weekend and haven't gotten to as many games as i'd like, but here's a few more @static-echo and i tried out!
Lylia's Deadline: Clearance: this thing is just positively crackling with early ps2 vibes. genuinely one of the most stylish overall UI/graphical presentations i've ever seen. i don't really do mega man games so it took me a minute to understand how gameplay is meant to flow, but it was really fun once i did! this is echo's fave of the event so far :3 (which makes sense. they and this game are similar types of extremely cool)
Bobo Bay: it's chao garden!! this is prob the most promising chao garden like i've seen so far! didn't play too much because i didn't want to get attached to these chao and then have to lose them and get new ones whenever the full game comes out, but i liked what i played so far! it's got sort of a monster rancher style calendar system to its events that helps give it a bit more structure than SA2's chao garden has, but given that SA2's chao garden is an extension of an entire other video game, i am still hoping that by full release this will have a bit more new stuff going on to flesh it out and make it feel more full as a standalone chao garden experience.
Blobun: @CyanSorcery's newest game! a really cute and fleshed out "touch every tile in this grid shape but only once" puzzle. some of the last levels in world 2 were a little tough for me personally, but the game looks and feels great, and the bunny does a >:3 face while sprinting. complete side note but i wonder if there's some fucked up knot-theory-esque math you can do about this type of puzzle, and which shapes are solvable and which ones aren't
Sonic Rush 3D: obviously. this is the headliner of the event and even though they've done a grand heist style crime to all of us by not making blaze playable yet, this thing's amazing. i absolutely love sonic rush's trick system for its ability to make branching paths more reactable than they otherwise would be on a tiny DS screen, and it turns out that making your sonic paths more reactable and interactive with less memorization is just really fun in 3d, too. not to mention the absolute storm of reward chemicals in my brain every time i do a trick combo finisher and the cute little aminals tell me i did a good job. this might be my personal favorite drift physics in a 3d sonic, too, although i do wish it were just a bit more responsive while not drifting.
