What is it like to live the kind of life where you have an active out-of-office message on your email account for a date range that ended days ago?
I typically am not specifically burned by Google ousting one app in favor of another ostensibly similar app (but I am still raw about Google Play Music).
Recently, Google Calendar stated that Reminders would be discontinued in favor of Tasks. As usual, they are ostensibly the same, but Tasks lets you add descriptions.
They are not the same.
I depend on a number of tasks that recur at set intervals, but sometimes I don't complete them the day they are due. When I do complete them, I like to reschedule the future tasks in the series to adjust. Tasks does not let you do that; it will reschedule the one task and leave your whole task schedule fucked.
The only option for updating "This and following tasks" is deletion.
Not to get all LinkedIn on here, but people who don't reply or follow up with me until they have a prepared complete update really frustrate me.
A reply to acknowledge receipt of an email is super helpful and updates even to just let me know you're still working on my request keep me calm. Bonus points if you just tell me the next time I should check in.
