I tend to watch YouTube while waiting in FFXIV roulette queues, and official clip compilation vids from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra often pop up in my recommendations. I do enjoy watching them, but lately, I'm starting to feel a tinge of guilt because there's so much show that is not captured in these videos. I also don't feel great about my memories of these shows becoming a handful of "best" moments.

Perhaps a full re-watch is in order.

Oh, oh, oh, oh! And another thing.

A handful of these clip compilations are titled "[character who is not Avatar Kyoshi] goes full Kyoshi for X minutes", and I really resent this because it boils Kyoshi's character down to "angry". The sexism notwithstanding, it's just such a weird way to refer to any other Avatar character getting angry or beating their enemies down. Kyoshi had a reputation in literally one village for being a little extra; it wasn't her whole character.

My other gripe here is that, no, Iroh/Toph/etc didn't go "full Kyoshi" because they weren't an avatar. They didn't lava bend an island off of a peninsula. Only Kyoshi did that.
