I post art and talk about my stories
(Sometimes I make games)

Fun fact: I put the games in order and noticed that Sol's hair unintentionally changed colour. Some people go grey from stress. Sol goes green, apparently.

Onto the devlog!

I've been stuck in the editing pit for... two weeks? Three weeks? Time is immaterial. Basically, I've been editing the script for a while now. There's still one third left so it's a race against burnout. That being said, do I want to gush about the story? Heck yeah, I want to gush about the story. It's teen spirit! Teen angst! The essence of college! There's a football player in it! Love triangle but the third wheel is super obvious! falls down and doesn't get up

The sudden implosion of art social media has been weird for development. Having to jump ship from Twitter is... not fun. I feel like I'm losing basically my entire gamedev career haha. A lot of people are moving to Tumblr but I've never had any luck there - heck, I'm not even sure if my posts show up in the tags. Games are meant to be played but if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears, will anyone see it?

In the end, maybe that's okay. I like writing, I like drawing, and I like seeing the end result. If, in ten years, future me came across this game and enjoyed it, I think it'd be worth it. Art is a message to the future (take your own meaning from this statement).

Back to game related discussion (this is very stream of consciousness, as you can see), this one will be the longest I've written. It'll likely eclipse 15,000 words, which actually might be the longest thing I've written ever? This makes me nervous to think about :")

More far-off things include a Steam release and possibly bundling all 3 Solchet games in one? Those are more wishlist items than actual plans, though.

I ended up writing a lot. Thanks for reading!

in reply to @arbitrrrary's post:

It's been a while since I read a game devlog on a social media site. I remember I used to read them all the time on tumblr when it was in its prime. I'm really looking forward to this next game! Sol just looks so cute with short hair 🥰

Devlogs are so fun to read! I like seeing creator's thought processes and their project evolve in real time. There was a period of time I'd go through Tumblr and Itchio looking for them C: I'm looking forward to the game too! Can't wait until I'm free xD
