Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

I'm researching the next Silver Ball Century stream after the 2010 stream this Thursday. On IPDB, I found this remarkable photo taken by Jay Stafford at Chicago Expo 2011.

From left to right, we see:

  • "Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons" by Whizbang Pinball
  • "Lost" by ??? (I thought the manufacturer name was "Oceanic", but that appears to be an in-universe reference)
  • "Godzilla" by Spooky Pinball

One of these machines would go on to mass production. One of these companies would go on to be an actual pinball manufacturer. But not the same one.

in reply to @arborelia's post:

it was!

like, the wildest measure of success for a homebrew pinball table is for Stern Pinball to buy it out and produce it, and that actually happened for Whoa Nellie

It’s the stupidest theme in pinball but somehow it’s hard to stay mad at it

Oceanic Airlines is the fictional airline in Lost. Also, the fucking speakers have Dharma Initiative logos around them, which I find hilarious, since the center of the logo differs based on different departments of the research facilities they belong to. From this photo it looks like the speakers are in the center, so I guess this pinball machine is part of some hypothetical faction of Dharma that deals with audio lol.

Okay, I'm done lore dumping in your comments now.
