Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

  • went inactive on my first twitter account, my "real person name" account, as soon as the buyout happened
  • deleted all my pre-transition tweets with a script -- I'm only keeping the newer ones because there are some tweets in there that are still important to causes I care about
  • changed my main account display name to "πŸ‚ arborelia is leaving πŸ‚" (it was always seasonally themed but there will be no spring this time)
  • posted links on twitter to this cohost and to my mastodon: @arborelia@computerfairi.es
  • ran the "fedifinder" script to port Twitter follows to Mastodon
  • nuked my private twitter account entirely, replaced bio with nonsense, deactivated
  • uninstalled twitter app from my phone, replaced with cohost PWA and Mastodon "Toot!" app

Cohost alone is not enough to replace Twitter (and it's not trying to be, in its design). But Cohost + Mastodon has been. I checked Twitter last night to make sure, and I am not missing anything, my social network on that place is already hollowed out.

For you. Not for 99.999999% of anyone else.
