Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

If you saw me play Adventure in my 12-game solo multiworld, you might have thought, wow it's cool that they could make an Internet-connected randomizer out of such an old game (Adventure is from 1980). Anyway, this week, in the weekly multiworld I play with many others in Kat's discord, I'll be randomizing chess.

"ChecksMate" is an Archipelago-based game in development where you get sent starting chess pieces and other advantages through the multiworld, and play chess against a competent AI that has just a normal chess army. The goal is checkmate. You find items (for other players or for your own future games) by getting "achievements", like capturing each enemy piece for the first time, moving your king to the center, promoting a pawn, etc.

Oh, and the pieces you get are often going to be fairy chess pieces.

Aside from that, I played A Short Hike randomizer for the first time in my 12-game multiworld project, and dang it makes a good multiworld randomizer. So that's the other game I'm playing in this weekly multiworld. I'll be swapping between exploring Hawk Peak and playing silly chess. That's why I'm calling this stream "Bird Chess". I think it'll be the next big thing after beachstickball.

(I will probably be finding a lot of Soul Blazer items. Many people are excited to try the Soul Blazer randomizer that recently became ready for Archipelago. I still need to finish the original game.)
