Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

A semi-recent conversation about the Earthbound soundtrack* led me to listen to the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" all the way through, and damn that is a 10/10 album at the start, and a 10/10 album at the end, and the middle of it sure exists

It was a turning point in recognition of pop albums as an art form, and I know I don't have all the context to understand everything going on, and what I do understand is pretty cool

I just feel sorry for any music critic intending to write about the lasting brilliance of every moment of the album, at the moment they get to track 5, "Fixing a Hole"

* the connection is that Earthbound takes a lot of inspiration from the Beatles, plus a lot of actual samples from the Beatles. This is why Dungeon Man has a yellow submarine and literally plays the drumbeat from the "Sgt. Pepper" reprise while he walks. starmen.net is down as I post this but they have a cool article about the influences and samples in the soundtrack.

would extremely recommend the book Magic Circles, which has an extremely bonkers analytical take about SPLHCB i can't spoil, but centers entirely on the dialec between the last song and the rest of the album. part of the claim centers on most of the album being "Fixing a Hole"
