Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

Hey

Have you heard of Masayoshi Takanaka? You should have.

I first discovered him because of his, what I can only describe as "prog funk", album "The Rainbow Goblins", an album from 1981 based on a children's book about Goblins who eat colors.

He uses himself saying the word "Goblin" kind of like a drumline

His music only gets better from there. Seriously, every time I recommend music to people like this, no one gives it a listen, but PLEASE. If this sounds good, try the entire album, it's very very good. And I also recommend my other favorite albums from him, All Of Me (1979), Alone (1981) is prolly my favorite, though I'm also super partial to Summer Road (2009) and 40th Year Rainbow (2011).

If you've never given much Japanese music a listen, his stuff is SO good, very funky and pleasant, mostly instrumentals, but occasionally with vocals. And if you HAVE listened to Japanese stuff, his stuff was massively influential to 1980s City Pop genre, a fantastic genre I happen to listen to a lot of.

Seriously, give him a listen, you won't regret it, especially if you love amazing guitar solos, his music is filled with 'em.

EDIT: Apparently I'm not the first to use the hashtag #Masayoshi Takanaka, y'all have good taste here <3
