Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

I played in the OBX (Outer Banks) pinball tournament this weekend. I had a great time though I didn't place well. It's not like I expected to place well at a Pro Circuit event.

One machine I didn't play well is Space Invaders, the unusual Bally widebody machine that I think has a bad design but I recognize that other opinions on this exist. Dismissing it as bad has probably stopped me from taking it seriously enough to learn it.

After the classics tournament was done, Kat got my attention and said she'd found the shots to make on Space Invaders to light the spinner and rip it repeatably. (PinTips will just tell you to shoot for the very dangerous horseshoe lane.) She coached me about the shots to make and I played a game...

and I got the high score on the machine.

You can see this from the two photos: the first (showing 991,500 in the P1 score display) is my score, and the second (showing 991,500 in all displays) is the high score.

There's a weird catch to this that I think just makes it extra cool.
