we only saw the crescent sun peek out of the cloud cover a couple of times, but it was still a cool lighting effect
I'm at Skänoñh, the welcome center of the Haudenosaunee, to see the eclipse. Heard a great talk that included how an eclipse likely occurred during the Haudenosaunee peace process with the Mohawk nation, many centuries ago.
Also part of the address was in the Onondaga language so I don't know what they said but it was cool to hear
Anyway time to stand by the lake and look at clouds as it gets dark
The Polyphonic Spree still exists. They are on tour, near the eclipse path. But they are not playing a concert today. Strikes me as a huge missed opportunity
they have performed for New Year's Eve but not for a solar eclipse
in fact I'm hearing that most of their performances have been at night!! wow, makes you think they're just not as into the sun as they claim to be
