post apocalyptic fiction never features enough equines. in a total collapse scenario gas would be out of the picture SO fast, and would be better used as fuel for e.g. electric generators than vehicles anyway. but there would still be grass. more grass than there is now, even. horse/donkey/mule fuel would be abundant, free, and easily accessible. give me more horsey filled post apocalyptic fiction. give me my uplifting post-apocalypse horsegirl story where the characters are healing from the trauma of the apocalyptic event(s) by learning to trust and bond with their horsey friends, and then with each other, and going on little mini adventures together to gather things to meet the needs of their communities. why does this not already exist do i really need to write it myself because i could try but tbh i'd rather somebody who is actually good at writing do it instead. and also get a film/tv adaptation that i could leave on for hours while i work on quilts n stuff. give me post apocalypse red dead redemption with less shooty shooty bang bang. no zombies, no lord of the flies bullshit, just exploring and collecting stuff with your multispecies friend group.
