"My new humansona, Renamon" is a FUN series of words.
LOVE the entire process of this, end result got me in SHAMBLES
The casual mood at the start, the moment of actual panic before calming down, the OBLITERATION of the clothes, And of course the classic: tits bigger than they dang head.
Too many magnificent details for me to highlight in one post. Great work
Absolutely delightful concept and execution! Think usually "identity death" is reserved for total mind deletion/conversion but my experiences might be an outlier in that regard?
I do usually agree with that, but I've both seen "identity death" used in this context far too many times to count & I like that it draws a line between the concepts of "identity death" and "ego death"; ego death seems to generally be what more people apply to complete mental rewriting/obliteration, plus something about the term feels more appropriately dire to me somehow... so it all kind of just clicks right in my head, y'know?
Ah! That makes much more sense, I should use that going forward, I should.
(I always get massive stress vibes from ego death stuff but like. You Can't Go Back but you're Still You Inside is something that scratches the right itches in the right presentations. It's Intense, but it's not Dark or Accidentally Dark, if that makes sense.)
Ahh you phrased it in a really good way, I agree!! Whatever one's turned into is completely different but they're still them at their core - their 'soul', their 'ego' per se
Ego death for sure is kind of a turn off to me but this sequence kicks apocalyptic ass
i saw it more as "sudden overwhelming body euphoria" which is just beautiful in its own right. i suppose that itself is a kind of ego death but its a much more positive way to phrase it than associating it with a "death." it's the awakening of amazing amounts of new self-love <3
I'm absolutely fixated on the "reacting to seeing what she looks like now" like just, immediate elation and joy that's like "I'm so happy I need to fuck about it."
I'm not sure if the crying was out of pain or panic, but holy shit this is EVERYTHING to me
i FUCKING love this sequence for the incredible euphoria and love between you two and ofc the intensity implied in the last 'panel' kjhdgfdfg gosh... wish fulfillment
One of my all-time faves istg
This is the most incredible, BEAUTIFUL sequence
Just... everything about this. The expressions from beginning to end, the style - I don't have the words, this is just TOO GOOD.
Going from Curiosity/confusion -> shock and PANIC -> post-TF exhaustion -> that absolute ELATION on seeing yourself, like... "This is everything I ever dreamed of"
This reminded me why I adored transformation in the first place
Also the pose sitting on the chair with tail poking up, -heck-.
and saw the tag and discussion on identity death and it's an intriguing thought... though I usually see it applied to situations where someone is 'erased' or 'overwritten'? This to me seems more like...
Well. Identity isn't a static set-in-stone sorta thing! It can be something that people can struggle to find or realize, or it can be something that can change on a whim...
but the way it was described, and that expression- to me this is like... identity crammed and compressed into a 'shape' to fit the vessel it's in.... the vessel is what changes, and it just feels so comfortable, why would you want to squish yourself back down into that lil box you were in before? The difference between cramped+squished, and loose+free feels so -different- that it feels like a new identity to embrace.
...That might just be me getting all flowery-worded about it though xD
Just... amazing!!!
