I did the whole "send one dude and demand tribute" hack in Dwarf Fortress to attempt to establish contact with a human settlement.
They gave me an iron puzzlebox.

A single Dwarf interacts with the Puzzlebox and you just instantly get the Hidden Fun Stuff dropped on you, no breaking into the Circus required.
