music composer and producer, keyboardist, bassist, recovering ex-software engineer, hobbyist GM for ttrpgs

Oh! I've been activated! Also this box told me that markdown is supported and I really like markdown (I used to write entire design docs in markdown), so now I have to use it. Also, I might be dating myself now, but I'm getting some strong livejournal vibes from cohost. Honestly, it's not a bad thing.

ok here's an actual introduction

Hi! My name is Cris. My full name is Christine. I will use either name depending on how many other Chris's are in the vicinity. You can find me on all the socials by my pseudonym, Ariyassa. My pronouns are she/they.

I currently work freelance as a music composer and producer for video games, so hit me up if you're looking for a collaborator. I generally am also skilled at brainstorming and turning ambiguous vague hand waviness into real things (it was once my job to do this), so hit me up if you need to bounce ideas or project planning for them. I also release original music on Spotify/streaming services for non-game work and my own personal projects.

Other stuff I do

Aside from music, I was once a professional software engineer and researcher, and I have degrees in fancy things like AI and machine learning and computer science. But after working for a non-trivial number of years in that field, I decided that the large corporate tech life wasn't for me. So here I am, pursuing things I actually enjoy. If I'm in the right mood though, I might talk about technology.

I also play a lot of tabletop RPGs. Mostly non-D&D ones. I sometimes GM for tabletop games. I also play a fair number of video games, but I prefer to watch my wife play video games while I make a lot of backseat commentary.

where am I going with this cohost thing

I'm not really big on social media, but I like to talk about music, games, stories, and nerd things. So... I'm thinking I might occasionally ramble about them.
