Previously I was using SyncTERM for BBSes but it turns out DOSBox has modem emulation that works with telnet1. Procomm Plus works! Once you've got your COM port set up you can literally just type ATDT hostname:port and it'll connect to hostname:port for you. And at 2400 baud it actually loads at the right speed, so you can appreciate each line as it comes in.


  1. In retrospect of course it does, because that way people hosting telnet BBSes can also just run them in DOS.
