what kind of wasp a lot of wasps are very good good helpful friends and if you read about how good they are it might make them less scary
When they are in my bedroom I am baby (mainly because idk how this one got in so idk how to help it leave I have screened windows)
I don't like wasps because wasps didn't like me as a kid and now I'm scared of them. do you know of any resources about wasps to help me be less afraid of them
a few years ago i had a bunch of great golden diggers in the yard that scared the piss out of me and i didn't know what they were, but i braved it out and tried to identify them and after reading about them i realized oh they're helpful, solitary, hunt pests, and not aggressive, you'd have to try really hard to make them mad at you
maybe start with the wikipedia page for blue mud dauber? their color is less intimidating and they hunt down black widows and the males are incapable of stinging! they're cool! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalybion_californicum
many of the wasps you see are probably different types of mud daubers like the black or black and yellow mud dauber, which look like the scary things you think of when you think of wasps, but are similarly helpful and chill like the blue friends!
