we've been pondering bluray for data backups. but the thing we're hung up on is like. say its 20 years from now. will we actually be able to find a bluray reader? i feel like a dvd reader is probably a lot more likely

back in 2004-2005 i tried making dvd-r backups and when i had a hard drive failure two years later the dvd-r backups had already gotten corrupted at rest. availability of bluray readers in 20 years is probably the least concerning thing to me in this scenario
probably - but has it improved an order of magnitude since then, including accounting for the more tightly packed bits in BD
