Is that you can't set any ol' MP3 (or even AAC) as a ringtone. You have to:
- Have an AAC
- Have it be shorter than some predetermined time (I think either a minute or a minute and a half?)
- Rename it from .m4a to .m4r
- Upload it via iTunes.
Or, alternatively:
- Go to the iTunes store and pay Apple some money.
The worst thing is, I can't seem to find the time to do the former method so I'm really heckin tempted to just use the second method and be done with it.
