i read this earlier and didn't have a great response beyond "what if rainworld..... but horny" which i feel is kind of what you're saying anyway but like -- honestly i agree with some of the things bigg is saying especially with regard to control being possible to do with one hand so you can touch yourself with the other -- this is so bizarrely absent with so many horny games that aren't visual novels that i have no choice but to think they just didn't really think it through
THIS IS ALSO!!!! a big part of why i think a lot about designs for one-handed controllers. the wii nunchuk has all of two buttons and that's the only relatively common one-handed controller i can think of besides the computer mouse which might have all of 3 buttons and that SUCKS
definitely! and because of the particular way i like to Do My Stuff, i actually end up with my (dominant) right hand free, so i'll likely end up thinking a lot about how to make one-handed controls work for both hands if i can manage it. bonus for accessibility too, having as much customizability as possible.
that was i think part of what made body heat's whole thing not quite feel right to me, though as a horny puzzle game rather than a game to jack off to it still works just fine. i think a few comments on that post brought up the idea of swapping between high and low engagement as well.
another half-baked thought i've got is borrowing ideas from idle games to lower the overall amount of controlling required. heck, i could see a mini-idle-game designed around the objective being to bring yourself and/or your partner to climax, repurposing the usual "numbers go up" for an arousal meter....
somehow...
i haven't figured out how that would actually work, but the idea of being able to tune the speed of arousal as a mechanic itself is pretty compelling to me.
