i know cohost is trying not to encourage metrics or overly incentivize engagement, but i kinda wish i had some way of acknowledging comments people leave me that didn't involve just commenting back. i like being able to signal to people that i appreciate things they say to me; but it's a struggle for me to find the words sometimes...

Yeah, I've had that thought several times too. I guess so many years on twitter (or just a sense of wanting interaction) makes me want to give a little thumbs up or something to let people know I saw, and acknowledged their message.
I do the same thing with texts to my family, so they know I've seen it.
Which I probably wouldn't have done back in the days where each SMS cost money...
But yeah, I don't want to type a response every time, but I also worry that people will feel ignored.
