wasteland 2 is such an odd experience, and i don't mean that positively. it makes a lot of sense that fallout did so much better with more or less the same setting. i think superbunnyhop commented on the writing being very dry, and that's right. it doesn't help that the rangers kinda have that slimy ncr vibe, and unlike new vegas, the criticisms of the rangers within the game aren't as strong.
this game has one of the strangest arrays of attribute scores in any game i've played, and it doesn't help that it's also very unintuitive. it's very easy to create a bad character in this game, and the companions mostly suck because of that. if they had made each point invested in skills matter more, and committed more to giving you decimal increases to make your stats work more for you, it really would've helped make things better.
i'm kinda surprised this game got a sequel? i wonder if they fixed the strangeness of the first game, though i'm not about to get it myself...
