In an effort to back up my stuff from tumblr, I'm going to be reuploading my cospaly pics from over the years and reminiscing, from the oldest ones to the ones currently in my lineup!
REAL banger this time! This was the fastest turnaround for one of my cosplays; it was about two weeks between Bridget dropping and coming out as trans and the convention where I got the second and third pictures, and I busted my ass to get it ready in time! Mostly ready - the cuff took a little bit longer. But this was such exciting news, even past the dumb shit meltdown the internet had over her, and I had to jump on it and show her some love, even if I haven't played the game :P And the results were great: people loved the cosplay in person, and the original photos I posted on tumblr were my best-performing post ever, with over 800 notes!
I scoured every thrift store in the area until I finally found a blue jacket, and even if it's a little darker than the canon appearance, then grafted on some white sleeves. The undershirt and beige top came from goodwill too, and the skirt I just got at a store in the mall. The boots took some more effort, with some blue and yellow paint and craft foam for the armor plates. Craft foam for the plus signs on the sleeves and the gender symbol on the hood, which is held in place with some elastic. And of course, gotta have Blahaj and a yoyo!
The cuff was layered cardboard and modeling wire sandwiched together - 3 layers of cardboard with wire in between to give it more structure, and the chain links locked together. I used a pair of big snap buttons to make the hinge work, so it can open and close to wear it easily, and the craft foam is tight on the inside of the "lock" so it stays put when closed!
