listen, the bar is run by a nazi sympathizer, but i'm pretty sure it's going to be less racist than the fediverse, on account of the fomo i feel from not having a bluesky account,

excuse me he's just on the board, a major financial backer, and invited all of his chud buddies to hang out, on his distributed social network, without blocks or privacy, it's not like he has any involvement in the day-to-day operations, maybe they will crowdsource a solution to the moderation problems, they didn't launch it it's invite only, theres always going to be nazis on the interenet, lets wait and see

I feel called out, but to be fair the only reason I wanted to have one of our system there was to make the maximum amount of trouble, and in the last couple of days we've been seriously questioning ourselves about our motivations. like, why encourage this sort of social medium in the first place? why participate in the trivialization of journalism and discourse? being a memorable clown in the circus still means joining the circus. so...guess we may simply toss away our invitation unused. ~Chara

been reaaalllly trying to sort this out in my head, and I think I have have arrived at the conclusion that I have some specific messages to deliver and Bluesky might be the best place for them. very tentative decision. it's not really a question of playing the game, at this point, but discharging a duty. this gets tediously metaphysical very quickly ~Chara

yes! which is why it drives us absolutely batshit when a bunch of people who not only watched twitter happen, but helped out with it, shrug and go "oh well! nothing to be done about the nazis on the internet"!

oh yeah, i don't think we mentioned: this entire discourse is coming from the ex-twitter slack

what, no, i'm saying we also support censoring nazi propaganda, we both wear that hat

also we were absolutely ready to, while we worked there, violently attack their servers, but we had no solidarity from the other workers and would have gotten fired, sued, and sent to a men's jail to die
