it's so manipulative too—it's, like, passive-aggressively fishing for complicity and commiseration for selfishly throwing public-health concerns in the garbage, and if they don't get the commiseration they want, then out comes the litany of angry self-justifications and the accusations of "living in fear" and all the rest of it. ~Chara

i hate it. a mask is like, the easiest most basic thing. it helps prevent flu and colds too! what's not to like! tired

and like masks are a sensory nightmare for some peoples' autism. like my friend (who always masks anyway because u gotta stay safe). which is why it'd be great if we coulda handled it so they wouldn't need to today but lol.

we actually rarely get asked why we're still masking but it does happen and we just say "asthma" cause it's true and it's the only explanation i have the energy to give

i'm so fucking angry at all of the pride events around here

every time i get "it's endemic now" i reply with "you get how that's worse, right?" and only rarely do they in fact get it

i continue to be one of the only people i know outside this household who still masks. i deeply hate it
