online queer culture is what happens when a bunch of aggressively privileged and conflict-avoidant white people transitioned and got told "nobody owes you anything and you aren't entitled to the outcomes you want" in therapy and heard "i don't owe anyone anything, and nobody but me is allowed to feel entitled to anything" and rebuilt their entire concept of social relations along these lines

my words aren't all together rn but there's something in there about how white family dynamics (specifically conflict resoultion skills here) are deeply informed by Protestantism + patriarchy which like- makes the focus more about atonement to authority.

and the reactionary response when a white queer breaks off of that is to swing far to the other side with that "i don't owe anyone anything" mindset that y'all are talking about. Which is effectively just placing themselves at the center of that atonement to authority framework cause they haven't legitimately dismantled that hierarchical mindset
