i think it's really important we talk about the differemce between a jester and a clown
a jester is a clown who is under threat of being executed by the head of state at any moment

Jesters jest. It’s in their name. They’re performers who act with a verb. Clowns? Their name is the verb, they are their act and their act is stupidity. Compared to a jester, a clown is a 2D drawing. A micro-organism. Zero
clowns have had their vocation basically assassinated by the horror genre, they really need a relaunch
preferably out of a big cannon or something
jesters usually wear hats while clowns usually wear funny wigs. there are some clowns that wear hats but i think that is more as a sign of respect to the jesters that paved the way for their profession in the modern age
