current dad worrying status: Fairly Worried. the whole of Lake County got 8-12 inches of snow, and it only has enough plows to keep Cobb clear, since it's the only mountainous area. generally it does not get any significant snow, as a rule. all four roads in and out of the county are closed and the power is out

I heard from him! He had to text me because the cell towers are too overloaded for Telegram. He took a half mile walk in the snow to take pictures. He grew up in Detroit and seems to be enjoying it a lot, despite the trouble; it's been 60 years since he lived somewhere it snowed.

Map is the power outage map for the county, which roughly matches "places in Lake County where people live"
