I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but here we are. our credit card debt is starting to become unmanageable after a year of struggling through the job market, and we're going to have to try something else instead. I'm trying to get our finances in a better place before things become critical, and to give us breathing room in case any further medical bills show up

it's been about a week since I originally posted this, and we've made a bunch of progress. one of the credit cards is completely paid off and the other balance has been seriously dented. thank you so much to everyone who helped, by either donating or just by sharing the original post
that said, we're really hoping to get our debt cleared for a variety of reasons, and I'm trying to figure out what else I can do to get eyes on this. I already got it reblogged on Tumblr by a very popular personality, and some private communities I'm in have also contributed, but my other options are limited. I'm not going to post a gofundme for a queer+enby family on Twitter for obvious reasons, neither of us have any reach on Mastodon, we're not going to use Facebook full stop, and all of the Reddit subs for this kind of thing have account age and karma requirements that neither of us have
if anyone has any ideas for spreading this around, I would really appreciate them. comments or emails (see my profile) are fine

so it looks like the gofundme has stalled, and that's okay, I think. we didn't reach the goal but we made a lot of progress against the debt. we've run out of places to share the link, so I'm going to give this one last repost before I set this aside
