Eventually they split into two camps: mad at you for not doing Thing2, and utterly convinced in some conspiracy surrounding Thing2 and how it's already been released or something.
Every time you try to tell the latter camp that you haven't even been working on Thing2, they think you're talking in code or just trying to keep the surprise.
