using a private account on here feels a bit lonely without getting notifications when a friend likes or shares something you share. i really miss the "i thought you'd like that" thing you can smile at on twitter and mastodon (and bluesky if it had private accounts)
also re-sharing is hard since the share button is disabled without a clickthrough for no reason i can immediately figure besides "a share counts as another post in a technical sense, and you can't share a locked account's posts" (not discounting a non-technical reason i don't know about though)
edit: i was wrong about bluesky, which explains why it feels weirdly empty for a twitterlike. weird design decision for Public Social Media (No Privacy)
