I'm sitting in an unoccupied relative's house in order to have access to power and hot water, tethering my laptop into my phone while eating cold chili out of a can and hoping I don't touch any mouse shit.

a small plane hit and got stuck in a high power transmission tower, knocking out power to like half the county, and repairs can't begin until the pilot and passenger, who all survived, are extracted from hundreds of feet in the air.
I should add that it was very foggy today, since the main question that keeps coming up as I tell this story around is "how the shit???"
that is truly wack and bonk. very glad that everyone involved is okay, that cannot be the most probable outcome when flying a plane directly into a 100 foot power transmission pylon. what a crazy call that must have been to get.
My grandfather flew a plane for the Army Air Force but crashed into a transmission line during training. Survived okay but I have some pictures of the wreckage and it’s pretty gnarly.

I know where the location is too, I was literally across the street getting groceries like an hour before. If the surrounding roads are open tomorrow imma see if I can get pictures, maybe get a kabob from a place that's right in front of it.
