abandoned cars honestly aren't all that interesting most of the time. It's pretty self-explanatory - beat-up collection of the same make/model? Someone stashed some junk cars to store parts for a good one they've got left elsewhere. Random roadside 50s Chevy? Americans love abandoned Americana. Old truck next to a decrepit barn? Rancher just never got around to fixing that head gasket, and eventually the vehicle became the property of Nature. I stage my shots of abandoned cars so they better represent what my vision is, but I'm still aware that it's not truly a portrayal of the entropy and decay I seek.
but about five miles off US-93 in the middle of a massive plain there's this pair - not visible from the main road - of a 50s-era coupe and I think an early-00s sedan of indeterminate model. I have no idea why they're parked here on public land, and I was genuinely shocked to find them. It felt uncurated, like a real peek into what the apocalypse would actually look like after the buildings fell and the weeds retook the parking lots.
