A diagram with "User Profile" in the center, and spokes out to Username, Email Address, Birthdate, Gender, City, State, Country, Timezone, Description, Name. The only arrows go from User Profile out to each other item, and the branching makes no sense.

this is an image someone (specifically, Honpinglin of the English Wikipedia; CC BY-SA 3.0) made in 2011, which can be found on the StumbleUpon article with the caption "Information Model for StumbleUpon's user profile".

this diagram takes the shape of something with meaning, yet is completely devoid of meaning. this diagram could refer to almost any website that has user accounts. none of the text in the article even lines up with this diagram.

given the timeframe, i almost wanted to declare this image to have cursed and ultimately doomed stumbleupon, but the dates don't line up. this image was created on December 8, 2011, and the site "deleted years' worth of user-generated content, and removed HTML blogging, standalone blog posts, and photoblogging capabilities" on October 24, 2011, so i'm pretty sure they cursed themselves.

i think a less enlightened version of myself would choose to edit the stumbleupon wikipedia article to remove this image, as it lacks any relevance whatsoever.

instead, i believe it is poignant metacommentary. i refuse to explain this

I'm digging way too deep out of fascination and it almost seems like some kind of collaborative school project that resulted in this artifact??? if it was me grading, I'd knock off points for putting City down a different path from Country/State; i'm staring at that corner and getting so upset
