people are pushing back that i am uncomfortable doing a big merge without coverage right before holiday leave, to meet a deadline set in the week between christmas and new years arbitrarily, and their question
their question is
"why is there no coverage?!"
IT IS THE WEEK BETWEEN TWO HOLIDAYS THAT WE COLLECTIVELY HAVE 6 DAYS OF WORK OFF FOR, OF COURSE THERE'S NO FUCKING COVERAGE
"maybe it'll go fine and you're holding up things for nothing"
and maybe it'll go like it has the last few years where my holiday becomes a massive source of burnout because someone finds something broke on dec 23 and gets pissy at me, and then it turns out that they just misunderstood it because the person actually on that team was out on holiday, and it was fine, and you just really felt like pissing me off!
