do people in other countries just... deal with an electricity grid THIS unreliable?

it pretty much doesn't matter where you are in the US, it's just gonna randomly go out sometimes

when i was in india, my apartment complex had a backup generator that activated when the power went out. it activated fairly often. sometimes it wouldn't run, either due to maintenance or lack of fuel. that was when the lights really did go out at home.
