tbh the eggbug-shaped avatars are the best way to show "this user is a staff member" i've ever seen
it's nice and subtle! it's also technically easy to fake with a transparent png, but if we catch you doing that then we take away your "transparency in profile pic" privileges. we've only had to do this once.
Banning someone should change their avatar to an otherwise-unobtainable broken-egg shape
The only reason I'm against this is I can think of one other obvious use for a cracked egg avatar on this site.
