Wait, there aren't? Since when? (I remember the days you could site your fort overlapping with human towns and just undermine all their buildings without any of them getting angry.
Seriously, they would not lose Friendly status as you converted their town into a series of suspiciously building-shaped sinkholes and stole anything useful from the wreckage now that it was too damaged to still have ownership tags. That's one of the reasons fortresses can't overlap with existing settlements anymore)
I have'nt played Dwarf Fortress and I just kind of assumed
I didn't know how else to continue the joke
Not only are there humans but a fairly extensive system of mechanics to persuade the humans that one of your intruder grinding chambers is a bed-and-breakfast and give your fort a nice little tourist industry, between grindings
The more I learn about dwarf fortress the more scared I am of dwarf fortress
Did you hear the time the playerbase creeped Toady out so much he both nerfed the value of mermaid bones (at a point in development when value was a nearly useless stat) and changed Dwarven ethics just to stop something players had figured out?
