i'm just going to turn off asks until they fix ghost asks because having a constant "17" in the inbox section i physically cannot get rid of is the worst

@auramgold

asks are so fun but they're so fucking broken in very subtle ways that very few people notice but are annoying

did you know that it's physically impossible to un-block an ask sender? and, in fact, if you unblock their page, it shows the ask notifications again, but doesn't show their actual asks? so yet again it leaves ghost ask notifications that are impossible to get rid of, which i already had from an unrelated problem that i don't know the cause of?

why is this so broken.

in reply to @auramgold's post:

i can give cohost a tiny amount of slack on that because "we need to at least break even on money to survive, and we're close to that" because shiny new features are one of the best ways to get new people for that

but if patreon replacement ships and they still don't have a dark mode despite being profitable and having time to polish i'm going to properly throw a fucking fit

The dark mode thing is the one that affects me most, but some of the other neglected accessibility stuff is so egregious that it genuinely destroys my faith that the developers care at all about any users unlike themselves.

Like this one from 7 months ago, where the comments immediately diagnosed the problem and named the solution, it's in the first page of bug reports sorted by votes, and there is nothing but silence from the devs: https://help.antisoftware.club/support/discussions/topics/62000183686

There's a comment in there that's especially disturbing, "cohost devs have not acknowledged or solved any of the bugs that come up in a search for 'accessibility' for at least 8 months." Followed by a link to the relevant search: https://help.antisoftware.club/support/search/topics?page=1&term=accessibility

What are disabled users meant to infer from this? That we are fundamentally not welcome here? I don't pay for Twitter or Tumblr or any other social media site because I see them as explicitly hostile to me, and it's for the exact same reason I will not pay for Cohost Plus. If the devs ever demonstrate a change in that attitude, I may re-evaluate that stance, but not a moment before then.
