Hell yeah! Makes me want to check out Pioneer, this modern remake of sorts??? If all else fails, there’s always Elite: Dangerous and GLFrontier
I loved that game, even when it was old and cranky it gave me the freedom to explore a vast universe and it was more Elite, which was absolutely my favourite game as a child, but now I could buy other ships. If I recall correctly, the challenges of velocity-matched dogfights made perfect in-world sense, but they didn't necessarily make for the most fun.
