The galling thing is that like... it's such a small amount of VO with such a well-understood scope. The cost of recording it with a real actor would have been a rounding error. This absolute loser is jerking off in public about saving his employer a little bit of money by making the product worse and entering into a shitty moral compromise that leads to things being worse for everybody, and he's basically bragging about it. What a fucking toad, honestly.

No credit to the voice actors here either. Who did that work, and in their own words how do they feel about it?
Well that's disappointing. I've bought pretty much every one of their DLC, even the ones that have poor reviews, but it looks like I won't be buying this one.
Same, I have hundreds of hours in Stellaris and I've spent a lot of money on the dlcs. Will not be engaging.
I actually asked about this on the forum when the dev diary revealing this was posted; never got a reply, but did get a flock of people rushing to down-vote asking where the training data was coming from.

Paradox, even if they've been having a rough time recently, absolutely has the cash and resources to get actual voice actors in to do this.
