Had you read any of Book of the New Sun before Autumn in Hieron was made? I'm listening to all of Friends At The Table for the first time, starting from the beginning, and I noticed a Severia Hall in the holiday special episodes, some of the descriptions of Velas reminded me of Nessus, and the Golden Lance's weapons evoked the flamethrowers(?) the guards there use.
