Welcome to cohost! Username mentions don't generate notifications, and you can't add someone's post to a site-wide tag feed by sharing it with a hashtag. cohost is designed so users have to opt-in to broader visibility, you can't put someone "on blast" here easily. Users can also disallow sharing one of their posts, or hide their posts from people who aren't logged in, but those are not that common, mostly just used by people who have experienced harassment elsewhere before.
But, cohost is a website! Links links links. you can copy the permanent link to a post and paste it anywhere. That's the easiest way to spread a post to people who aren't following you on here. So I'd say you should either open your ask box and encourage people to submit links there, or pin a post to your feed and encourage comments with those links instead.
That said, sure do bookmark that tag and keep an eye on it, posters can certainly add that tag themselves. I'd also recommend bookmarking a few other tags that seem relevant. I'm glad you're here, feel free to ask me any other questions, if I don't know the answers I can probably get them. :)
