... in other news, Modal apparently declared bankruptcy this week. I'm not surprised, ever since they forced Paula Maddox out and George Hearn quit to start UDO, and they started making cheap digital stuff. But it's been a lousy week for synth companies.

it’s so frustrating that tools for art are so capitalized. i’m so tired of seeing companies that make instruments and equipment (or even software) get bought up by larger profit driven companies who in turn just shut shit down and move it to a place where they can exploit labor even harder just because it doesn’t make shit loads of money like they expected when purchasing. like there’s zero chance that a company like moog couldn’t keep itself going with what it had but they only want constant growth, providing consistency even if it mean occasionally not making as much money as possible means nothing to those who own them.
