I know that when it comes to anthology series one issue that arises pretty consistently is consistency. Wide range of directors means some stories are gonna fall flat in comparison to others.

That said it’s shocking how elevated episode 3, David Prior’s The Autopsy is compared to the rest of the series. Prior directed The Empty Man so it makes a little sense, but episode 3 just feels different than anything else in the rest of the series.

Episode 7, The Viewing, wow. Up there with The Autopsy. Directed by Panos Cosmatos (writer for 2018’s MANDY) it absolutely perfectly captures the vibe of late 70’s, early 80’s science fiction.

Brutalist architecture, analog technology. Eric Andre’s character really shows his range as well.
