As promised, a full-size barred macro crossword! Fill in each cell with a string of 1-4 letters such that each row and column corresponds to a clue. Here's an example of a filled grid. This one is non-cryptic.

Hi I'm Dana, I mostly just tool around with friends, play RPGs, and listen to podcasts, but I've also been known to make podcasts at SuperIdols! RPG and I've written a couple of short rpgs at my itch page and on twitter.

This was posted at the perfect time and took just long enough to keep me occupied in the waiting and exam rooms while my wife got a test done, so thank you! However, I feel pretty certain I've solved everything except the answer I got for 25-across doesn't make any sense and I can't see how the words crossing through it could be different or distributed differently so now that I'm home I'm staring at my completed grid, baffled.
Thanks (and also congrats, my test-solvers said this one was hard so having an almost perfect grid is a big deal)! I can tell you that the first cell of 26d is the offending square. Feel free to DM me on discord and I can give you a more specific hint.
Ah, thank you! I had to resort to Onelook to find alternate fills but once I knew what I had to search for, the right word jumped out at me.
I did have to google a few proper names I didn't know, which I usually do for crosswords, but I found this easier to start and get into than the smaller macros thanks to the easy one-square words providing handholds.
Yeah the 12d / 20a cross is pretty painful if you don't have a particular bit of knowledge about either Islam or Scrabble-ese, it's a bit of a "the average person only knows the chemical composition of the most common agates" moment
