Hi I'm Dana, I mostly just tool around with friends, play RPGs, and listen to podcasts, but I've also been known to make podcasts at SuperIdols! RPG and I've written a couple of short rpgs at my itch page and on twitter.

  • the strawberry: 苺 (ichigo), a female given name
  • the peach: 桃 (momo), a female given name, and the root of the historical word for pink 桃色 (momo-iro)
  • the cherry: 桜ん坊 (sakuranbō), the fruit of the cherry blossom 桜 (sakura), which is a female given name

Shoutout to the Apricot, specifically the Prunus armeniaca species, also!

In Japanese it's called a 杏子. This is a funny one. When referring to the fruit, it's usually called Anzu. This isn't normally a given name. It is. however, the given name of my good friend Masaki Anzu, from Yugioh. everyone say hi to my friend Anzu.

As a female given name in general, it's more commonly pronounced Kyōko or Momoko. Though, the latter can also be written as 桃子, using the character for "peach"; meanwhile, the former has many alternate etymologies. When possible, it's fun to look up the kanji used in a character's name!

Anyways, i could say something about Kyoko Sakura from Madoka Magica here. But the truth is... I made this addition entirely because I wanted to talk about Anzu. Even though she's not a magical girl. I hope you'll forgive me... for my betrayal...
